Dates: Practices wll be start on August 10! The season runs from August until end of October (occasionally into the first few days of November)

Practice Schedule:

Practices will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Micros: Monday and Wednesday evenings 5:30-6:30pm

2/4 and 5/6: Monday and Wednesday evenings 5:30pm-7:00pm (As we lose daylight we do anticipate ending practice earlier, which generally occurs in October).

What to bring: Mouthguard, cleats, field hockey stick, and plenty of water.

Uniform: Slater Youth Field Hockey will provide players with a game day jersey. Players will provide their own black bottoms, either a skirt, skort, or shorts. Players will also provide their own mouth guard, shin guards, and field hockey stick. Socks and Pinnies, if purchased, will be distributed when the season starts.

Parents are welcome to watch from the pavilion if there is not a party rental. We ask that parents refrain from standing on the fields during practice so our players and coaches have enough space.

FAQs:

When will my player be assigned a team?

-The first few weeks of practices we are evaluating players skills and abilities and working to create equal and balanced teams. Teams will be finalized by end of August/begining of September.

When will we get the game schedule?

-Slater Youth Field Hockey submits the number of teams we will have playing in the league by the deadline of August 10th. After that, we wait for NJPA Hockey to release the schedule. Historically, this has not happened until early September. For now, anticipate games starting September 13th. Games will take place on Sunday afternoons between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Keep Sunday afternoons open on your calendar and you'll be all set. As soon as we get the schedule, we will pass it on to the families.

We are going on vacation and will miss practice and/or a game. Should we let someone know?

-Yes! Please let your coach know as soon as possible so they can plan ahead.
